How do Allstars grade teams?
Grading is an ongoing process and draws on information from the previous season as well as the club grading days. Allstars considers coaches’ evaluation and independent practical grading.
You can view the Allstars grading policy on our resources page - https://www.allstarsnetball.com.au/resources/
What netball skills are being reviewed on grading day?
Footwork, speed/agility, ball handling skills, attacking, and defending skills, fitness, sportsmanship, and attitude. Each age group is assessed in line with the Netball Queensland curriculum.
How many positions will my child be playing at grading day?
Players’ list two positions they would like to trial for, which allow them to display their technical netball skills. While every effort is made to give players time in their positions sometimes this is impossible because of the number of players wanting to trial in the same position. Some players are also easier to grade. Playing a certain position at grading, does not guarantee the player will play that position during the season.
What do players wear to grading?
Players are asked to wearch all black to grading (black top with black bike pants or shorts). No club, school, or representative uniforms to be worn.
Will teams be kept together from the prior season?
Due to the nature of change, new registrations and differing player development rates, player movement in and out of teams may occur. We cannot guarantee that teams will be kept together.
My child played up an age group last season, will this occur again the following season?
Players are required to grade in their correct age group. Please email requests to play up, prior to grading day to allstars.registrar@outlook.com The club will consider the abilities of the individual player, numbers available to make up teams and competitive nature of teams impacted.
How does Allstars communicate to club members and families?
Allstars Netball Club uses TEAM APP and Facebook to keep our members updated on club events and news.
